Cultivating our future leaders

Intrigued by operations? Spend six months interning in the operational departments that interest you – that could be Rooms, Food and Beverage, HR and anything in between. If you do well, we’ll invite you to apply for one of our Management Development Programmes once you’ve graduated.

 

Ready to lead? Our Management Development Programmes help you grow into the leader you’d love to be. You’ll join one of three divisions – Food and Beverage, Rooms, or Spa – and learn on the job while working towards becoming a supervisor or junior manager.


Food & Beverage Management

A programme that sets you up for a high-flying future at Mandarin Oriental. Through learning experiences you won’t find anywhere else, you’ll discover everything there is to know about the Food and Beverage Department. And the ultimate aim? To get you to General Manager.

 


What will we give you?

  • 12 months of intensive learning and development
  • The chance to work in three areas of F&B, spending four months in each
  • Three eCornell distance learning courses to boost your development
  • Responsibility that builds. You’ll start as one of the team, then move to supervisor, then assistant manager. Eventually, you’ll
  • Start shadowing a head of department
  • Regular meetings with the director of F&B and corporate F&B teams

 

What will you need to have?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality
  • Twelve months of industry experience
  • Command of English and one other language
  • A visa or work authorisation for the country you’ll be training in

Rooms Management

A programme that sets you up for a high-flying future at Mandarin Oriental. Through learning experiences you won’t find anywhere else, you’ll discover everything there is to know about the Rooms division. And the ultimate aim? To get you to General Manager.


What will we give you?

  • 18 months of intensive learning and development
  • An in-depth understanding of all of the Rooms departments
  • The chance to work in the ones that really interest you, from reservations and front desk to guest relations and housekeeping
  • Responsibility that grows as your skills do
  • Three eCornell distance learning courses to boost your development
  • Training to help you grow your management and leadership skills
  • A mentor to help you make the most of your journey
  • The chance to work on two special assignments, including regional or global projects
  • Regular meetings with the rooms director and the general manager

What will you need to have?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality
  • Twelve months of industry experience
  • Command of English and one other language
  • A visa or work authorisation for the country you’ll be training in

Spa Management

A programme that sets you up for a high-flying future at Mandarin Oriental. Through learning experiences you won’t find anywhere else, you’ll discover everything there is to know about operating a spa. And the ultimate aim? To get you to Director of Spa.


What will we give you?

  • 18 months of intensive learning and development, split between four operational areas
  • The chance to gradually take on more responsibilities, including supervising people
  • Training to help you grow your management, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • The opportunity to take on three key projects in areas like marketing, finance and retail
  • Three eCornell distance learning courses to boost your development
  • Mentoring from a senior manager to help you make the most of your journey

 

What will you need to have?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality
  • Twelve months of industry experience

  • A visa or work authorisation for the country you’ll be training in
